Filing
A Claim
- The fastest
way to file an auto insurance claim is to call your insurance
company directly. Some carriers allow you to file a claim online.
If so, logon to their Web site for more information. (see phone
numbers and links of the carriers we represent on the left). Please
let us know as well.
- A claim representative
should contact you within a reasonable period. As part of the
investigation, other drivers and witnesses may be contacted. If
you have medical payments or uninsured motorist claims, you must
provide documentation of your injuries, medical expenses, lost
wages, etc. Do not sign anything you don't understand or agree
with.
If you are a client of Tegner-Miller and you need assistance please call us at 310-828-9662 and ask to speak to our claims department. If you are not a client of Tegner-Miller and you need to file a claim, please call your insurance company directly. If you feel it is necessary, you may
also contact the Department of Insurance's Consumer Communications
Bureau (CCB) by calling the toll-free 1-800-927-HELP (4357) for
assistance.
Please note:
Insurers are required to acknowledge receipt of your claim within
15 days. They have 40 days after that to conduct their investigation
and accept or deny the claim in whole or in part. If settlement
is reached they have 30 days to tender payment.
